Rhonda Brown is Affiliate Associate Professor in Mental Health Nursing at Deakin University's School of Nursing and Midwifery. With expertise in community mental health and family therapy, her research addresses health disparities in marginalized populations.
Brown's work focuses on LGBTQ+ health outcomes, including SMS interventions for alcohol reduction in same-sex attracted women, and healthcare experiences of gender-diverse individuals during pregnancy. She developed training programs to improve clinician confidence with same-sex parented families.
Her teaching includes mental health promotion, primary healthcare, and research methods. Brown received the 2008 Citation for Contribution to Student Learning for developing academic mentoring programs.
