Rhombie Sandoval

Rhombie Sandoval is an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Photography and Imaging at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California. Her practice integrates artist residencies to explore human narratives through documentary portraiture, focusing on marginalized communities and cultural identity. She founded Anywhere Blvd, a platform promoting portrait photographers and their subjects' stories. Sandoval holds a BFA from Art Center College of Design (2014) and completed residencies including Heima in Iceland (2016–2017) and Elsewhere Studios in Colorado (2017).

Her research emphasizes storytelling across diverse cultures, with projects like East of Jesus documenting the transient community of Slab City, California. Exhibitions include IdentificarX (2024) and Take A Minute (2024), highlighting her work in contemporary art spaces. Sandoval’s approach prioritizes analog photography and immersive community engagement, reflecting her belief in photography as a tool for connection and empathy.
