Rhea Hoskin holds an MA in Gender Studies (2013) and a PhD in Sociology from Queen's University. She is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Waterloo, cross-appointed to the departments of Sociology & Legal Studies and Sexuality, Marriage & Family Studies.

Her research focuses on femininities and femme theory, particularly exploring critical femininities, femmephobia, and psychosocial/cultural perceptions of femininity. She analyzes systemic prejudices rooted in the devaluation of feminine identities and applies Femme Theory to broader sociocultural phenomena.

Her academic journey has been shaped by mentorship from Queen's Gender Studies faculty (Drs.
