Assoc. Prof. Dr. Reşat Volkan Günel is a faculty member at the Faculty of Law of Near East University, serving as the International Law Program Director. He holds membership in the prestigious International Space Law Institute, an organization with UN observer status, and is the only Turk in this global body. His work focuses on space law, international law, and legal policy analysis.
Dr. Günel has authored a seminal book, Space Mining in Terms of International Law, which critically examines space law principles and their application to space mining enterprises. He actively participates in global legal initiatives, including serving on the Leiden University Faculty of Law's Virtual Space Law Trial and various international commissions.
