Dr. Rex Bannerman is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton. His research focuses on photonic systems, optical engineering, and quantum photonics, with notable contributions to laser fabrication and fiber optics technologies.

His work explores advanced fabrication techniques for photonic devices, including UV laser writing, Bragg gratings, and nonlinear optical waveguides. Key trends in his publications involve integrated optics, quantum entanglement demonstrators, and Brillouin-Raman fiber lasers.
