Reuven R Kimelman is Professor of Near Eastern and Judaic Studies at Brandeis University, with affiliation to the Master of Arts Program in Comparative Humanities. His scholarship bridges historical and literary analysis of Jewish traditions.

Kimelman's research focuses on the evolution of Jewish prayer through historical and literary lenses, with particular attention to liturgical poetics. He explores interfaith dynamics between Judaism and Christianity across eras, comparative literary analysis of Greek and Biblical texts, and ethical frameworks in Jewish thought including war ethics and human nature.
