معرفی
Dr. Reto Wildhaber is a Professor for Digital Biomarkers and Signal Processing at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland (FHNW), affiliated with the School of Life Sciences and the Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics. Concurrently, he serves as a Senior Researcher at the Signal and Information Processing Laboratory (ISI) at ETH Zurich. His work bridges biomedical engineering and clinical applications, with laboratories in Muttenz and Zürich.
Wildhaber's research focuses on:
- Biomedical signal analysis and model-based processing
- Development of digital biomarkers for clinical diagnostics
- Medical sensor system design and validation
- Clinical trial methodologies for medical devices
His recent publications demonstrate strong trends in cardiovascular diagnostics (intracoronary ECG analysis, atrial mapping) and neuro-auditory applications (cochlear implantation signal processing). A significant portion utilizes state-space modeling techniques for real-time biomedical signal extraction. Wearable technology validation and minimally invasive diagnostic tools represent emerging themes.
He leads or contributes to several technical projects:
- lmlib.ch: Open-source Python library for model-based biological signal processing
- CLabUZH: Cardiopulmonary physiology simulation software for education
