Frida Sandberg is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Lund University. She holds a M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Signal Processing, both from Lund University. Her work focuses on digital and data-driven health, aiming to improve cardiovascular disease diagnosis through biomedical signal processing and machine learning.
Her research includes the development of tools for analyzing ECG signals to assess autonomic nervous system modulation in atrial fibrillation, leveraging model-based analysis and neural networks. She leads projects such as Data Driven Tools for Atrial Fibrillation funded by the Crafoord Foundation and contributes to cardiovascular risk stratification studies.
As Programme Manager for the M.Sc. in Biomedical Engineering, she coordinates courses like Signals and Systems and Project Course in Signal Processing. She supervises PhD students, including Salinas Martinez, R., Abdollahpur, M., and Plappert, F., and collaborates with institutions on topics like ECG-based biomarkers and blood pressure estimation.
Frida Sandberg actively participates in organizing academic events, including the Engineering Health Fall Meet 2023, and serves on the programme committee for conferences. Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals in Medical Engineering and Signal Processing.
