Reto Bürgisser is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Political Science (IPZ) at the University of Zurich. He previously held a Postdoctoral position at the University of Bern. His research focuses on political economy, comparative politics, and political behavior, with an emphasis on the digital and green transitions, welfare state policies, and public opinion dynamics.
Bürgisser holds a PhD in Political Science from the European University Institute (2019), an MRes from the same institution (2015), and a BA/MA in Political Science from the University of Zurich (2011–2014). His work explores how governments navigate economic and environmental challenges, including taxation, climate policy, and labor market reforms.

- Teaching: Courses include Swiss Politics, Political Economy of Climate Change, and Social Democracy in Europe. He received Excellence in Teaching Awards at the University of Bern (2019).
Grants: Recipient of UZH-IPZ Department Research Grant (2023) and UZH Global Affairs Grant (2023) for climate policy research. Awarded Swiss State Secretariat scholarships for doctoral studies (2014–2018).
