Her research spans lifecourse epidemiology, with a focus on pediatric obesity, steatotic liver disease, asthma, and allergy. Recent studies involve the Swedish Childhood Obesity Register and national databases to assess long-term health outcomes, including major adverse liver events, type 2 diabetes risk, and healthcare utilization patterns. She also investigates the interplay of perinatal factors with cardiometabolic risks.
Recent publications highlight her work on digital obesity interventions (2025), adolescent obesity and healthcare utilization (2025), pediatric obesity and multiple sclerosis risk (2025), and the metabolic consequences of steatotic liver disease (2024). Her research integrates public health, clinical epidemiology, and health informatics to address pediatric metabolic disorders.
Resthie Putri has received grants from the Freemason Foundation for Children's Welfare, Sällskapet Barnavård, and The H.R.H. Crown Princess Lovisa Society for Child Care for her research between 2021 and 2025. Her work bridges academic research with clinical practice, utilizing large-scale register data to inform pediatric obesity treatment and prevention strategies.
She is actively involved in the Pediatric and Respiratory Epidemiology Research Group at Karolinska Institutet, contributing to multidisciplinary studies linking epidemiology, nutrition, and clinical medicine to address childhood obesity and its comorbidities.
