Renukadevi Balusamy is a Professor at the Department of Food Science and Biotechnology, Sejong University. She holds a Ph.D. in Natural Products from Kyung Hee University (2013), M.S. and B.S. in Biotechnology from Avinashilingam University, India. Her research focuses on nanotechnology applications in cancer and obesity treatment, multi-omics approaches to disease progression, and phytochemical screening for therapeutic potential.
- Ph.D., Kyung Hee University (2013)
- M.S., Avinashilingam University (2009)
- B.S., Avinashilingam University (2007)
Her work bridges nanomaterials (gold, silver, iron oxide nanoparticles) with biomedical applications, particularly in apoptotic cell death mechanisms, anti-cancer properties, and obesity-related lipid metabolism. She has contributed to drug delivery systems, toxicological evaluations, and plant-based nanoparticle synthesis for therapeutic use.
The 15 most recent publications highlight her expertise in nanotechnology for oncology, phytochemical-based therapies, and multi-omics in disease analysis. Notable topics include chitosan-based drug delivery, carene isomers in apoptosis, and CRISPR-Cas applications for cancer biomarker detection.
