Renee Rogge is the Dean of Faculty and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. She holds dual affiliations in Academic Affairs and the Biology & Biomedical Engineering department. Dr. Rogge earned her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa (2000) and a BS from Tulane University (1996).
Her research focuses on biomaterials, biomechanics, and body modeling. She leads projects in the Orthopedic Biomedical Engineering Laboratory, emphasizing orthopaedic biomechanics and surgical implant design. Her work includes studying tibial motion in knee replacements and improving design evaluations for engineering education. Dr. Rogge has mentored award-winning student teams in workplace innovation and NSF-sponsored disability-focused projects.
Teaching interests include engineering design pedagogy, reflected in co-chairing a national engineering education conference. She has received the Board of Trustees Outstanding Scholar Award (2014) and Dean's Outstanding Teacher Award (2018). Current roles include the Samuel F. Hulbert Faculty Chair in Biomedical Engineering (2013–present).
