Renee Georg is an Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology and Director of the Institute of Health and Wellness at Alaska Pacific University (APU). She holds a Master of Science (M.S.) and is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) approved as a Counseling Supervisor by the Alaska State Licensing Board. Her career spans over 30 years, including adjunct teaching since 2001 and various roles at APU.
Her educational background includes studies at Penn State, with roots in Western Pennsylvania. She emphasizes practical, collaborative, and experiential learning in her teaching, focusing on creating safe environments for students to explore new perspectives. Her research interests include trauma-informed counseling, group dynamics, and child development, informed by her work in domestic violence, mental health, and child development agencies.
