Renaud Blanch is an Assistant Professor at the University of Grenoble (Université Joseph-Fourier - Grenoble I) since September 2006. He is affiliated with the IIHM (Interaction Homme-Machine) team within the LIG (Laboratoire d'Informatique de Grenoble) lab. His research focuses on enhancing human-computer interaction through:
- Improving target acquisition in GUIs using techniques like Semantic Pointing and Rake Cursor
- Developing visualization methods for small devices
- Applying descriptive formalisms to interaction programming via tools like HSM
He actively participates in academic service, having served on program committees for ACM CHI (2011), IHM'11, IHM'10, and co-organized IHM'09. His work leverages Fitts' Law and control-display ratio adaptation to optimize user interface design while preserving visual layout constraints.
