Renate Schwab

Renate Schwab is a Gulbali Research Fellow at the Gulbali Institute, Charles Sturt University. She specializes in biosecurity and anti-viral research, leveraging expertise in 3D cell culture systems and organoid technologies.

• Education: PhD in Molecular Oncology from the University of Melbourne.

Her research focuses on applying 3D cell culture models to biosecurity challenges, particularly for anti-viral compound testing. Previously, she studied Wnt signaling in colon cancer at the University of Melbourne and developed hepatic spheroid models at QUT for anti-fibrotic research.

Renate's recent publications highlight her transition from cancer biology to biosecurity applications, emphasizing extracellular vesicle production, organoid systems, and regenerative medicine. Her work intersects with stem cell biology and molecular virology.
