Renata Ingbrant

Renata Ingbrant is a Senior Lecturer in Polish Studies at Stockholm University, specializing in Slavic Languages and Literatures. She holds a PhD from 2007, focusing on Anna Świrszczyńska's poetry. She has served as Deputy Head and Head of the Department of Slavic and Baltic Languages from 2021–2024. Her research spans modern Polish literature, gender studies, cultural memory, and women’s history. She has led projects like Północ–Południe: Polish at the Edges of Europe (2024–2025) and In Search of the New Man (2011–2014). She teaches courses on Polish language, literature, and culture, and has supervised numerous theses. Her publications include works on Polish sexology, gender politics, and transgressive historical figures like Anna Henryka Pustowójtówna.

Research interests emphasize intersections of gender, memory, and power. Notable works include analyses of cultural memory in post-socialist contexts and studies on Polish national identity through literature. She collaborates internationally, including with institutions like the Polish Academy of Sciences. Current projects explore Polish language and identity across Europe.
