Renata Bancerz

Dr. Renata Bancerz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS). Her academic career focuses on enzyme engineering, fungal biotechnology, and industrial microbiology.

Her research includes:

• Modification of fungal enzymes using microbial polysaccharides
• Antitumor and antimicrobial applications of fungal metabolites
• Biotechnological use of lipases and oxidoreductases

Recent work highlights fungal and bacterial polysaccharides for enzyme property enhancement, particularly in esterification reactions and colon cancer inhibition. Her publications span journals like Archives of Microbiology, Scientific Reports, and Bioprocess and Biosystems Engineering.

She has co-authored two patents related to lipase-catalyzed ester synthesis and maintains active collaborations in biochemical engineering.
