Dr. Remon Pop-Iliev is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at Ontario Tech University. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto and has been a Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario since 1999. His research focuses on advanced materials, including functionally graded polymeric composites, biodegradable nanocomposites for bone tissue engineering, and rapid rotational foam molding techniques. He is a Senior Member of the Society of Plastics Engineers and a Fellow of Engineers Canada and the Canadian Society for Mechanical Engineering.

Research Interests: Dr. Pop-Iliev’s work spans materials science, biomedical engineering, and sustainable manufacturing. He has pioneered methods for fabricating biodegradable scaffolds using 3D printing and developed novel foam molding processes for polyolefins. His contributions to polymer processing and composite design have led to advancements in medical implants and industrial applications.

Labs & Teams: Leads research groups focused on biomaterials, advanced manufacturing, and design engineering. Collaborates with industry partners on projects involving nanocomposite fibers and sustainable materials.
