Reinhard Finsterwalder

Reinhard Finsterwalder is a Professor of Computer Science, with a focus on Engineering Informatics, at the University of the Federal Armed Forces Munich. He serves as a Budget Officer and Faculty Council Member, and has held administrative roles including Dean and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration.

• Teaches courses in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Communication Technology, and Aeronautical Engineering, including Applied Computer Science, Algorithms and Data Structures, and Computer Graphics.
• Research interests center on simulation/animation of mechatronic systems in virtual reality, distributed simulation, embedded systems, and internet-based engineering applications, with collaborations involving AMATEC Robotics, Astrium, BMW, DLR, EADS, Eurocopter, IABG, KUKA Robots, and Schlegel Simulation.
• Current projects include the development of the MASTER modular vehicle simulator and investigation of HLA for military subsystem integration.

Industrial partners include AMATEC Robotics, Astrium, BMW, DLR, EADS, Eurocopter, IABG, KUKA Robots, and Schlegel Simulation. Students supervised by Finsterwalder include projects on robotics, embedded systems, and simulation technologies, with international participants from the University of Arizona and Ecoles d'officiers de l'armee de l'air.
