Professor Reimut Zohlnhoefer is a prominent political scientist at the Institute of Political Science, Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg, where he leads research on comparative public policy in advanced democracies. His work focuses on the intersection of partisan politics, political institutions, and economic intervention, with particular expertise in the Multiple Streams Framework (MSF).
His research interests span comparative public policy, political decision-making processes, the Multiple Streams Framework, partisan effects on economic policy, and European policy-making. Zohlnhoefer has significantly advanced the theoretical refinement of the MSF, adapting it for parliamentary systems and EU decision-making contexts. His empirical work examines government intervention in the economy through five key policy instruments across 20 OECD countries from 1981-2018.
Zohlnhoefer's publication record demonstrates consistent output in top journals including Governance, West European Politics, British Journal of Political Science, and Journal of European Public Policy.
