Rehana S. Lovely, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Anatomical Sciences within the College of Biomedical and Translational Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth, Texas. She specializes in teaching dissection-based and prosection-based anatomy to medical, physical therapy, and physician assistant students.
- Education: Ph.D. from Yamagata University, Japan; M.S. and B.S. from Dhaka University, Bangladesh.
Research Focus: Dr. Lovely investigates the role of the gamma component of fibrinogen in blood clot formation, emphasizing genetic and environmental factors contributing to cardiovascular diseases. Her work spans molecular hematology, thrombosis, and translational physiology.
Outreach: She actively participates in K-12 science outreach programs such as Mentors for Life, Texas Academy of Biomedical Sciences (TABS) Summer Bridge Program, and JAMP summer programs, which aim to inspire future careers in science and medicine.
Teaching: Dr. Lovely directs the gross anatomy course for Master of Medical Science students (SARS 5401) and teaches multiple anatomy courses to medical, physical therapy, and physician assistant programs, including Musculoskeletal and Skin Systems, Nervous System, Cardiopulmonary System, Gastrointestinal & Renal Systems, and Reproductive & Endocrine Systems.
