Regina Werbick serves as a Lecturer in Music Theory and Aural Training at the Institute of Music, University of Kassel since 2017. Her teaching focuses on composition, aural training, and musical analysis within the Department of Music.
Her educational background includes church music studies at Detmold University of Music, followed by specialization in music theory/aural training and a master's degree in aural training. Prior to her academic appointment, she worked as a deanery church musician for the Archdiocese of Paderborn, serving as organist at St. Nikolaus Büren's baroque Johann Patroclus Möller organ.
Her research interests center on historical performance practices, particularly 15th-17th century vocal music and 19th century oratorio editing. She maintains active performance work with ensembles like Seicento Vocale and Kleine Cantorey Münster, specializing in early music repertoire. Her pedagogical approach integrates practical performance experience with theoretical instruction, particularly in ear training methodologies.
Werbick conducts specialized training courses at institutions including Werkgemeinschaft Musik Münster and Bildungsstätte Burg Rothenfels, focusing on choral leadership and historical performance techniques. She has previously taught at conservatories in Detmold and Münster before joining the University of Kassel.
