Regina Day Langhout is a Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research focuses on empowerment in educational and neighborhood settings using participatory action research (PAR), examining how race, ethnicity, social class, and gender influence experiences and resistance to negative stereotypes. She explores conditions necessary for ideological shifts toward social justice and systemic change.
