Dr. Reggie Taylor is an Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Physics at Carleton University and a Physicist/Scientist at the University of Ottawa Institute of Mental Health Research at The Royal. His expertise lies in medical biophysics and neuroimaging, with a focus on developing MRI and PET/MRI techniques to study neurological disorders.
He holds a Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from the University of Western Ontario, where he pioneered ultra-high field 7 Tesla MRI techniques for neurotransmitter analysis in schizophrenia. His postdoctoral work at Lawson Health Research Institute and Siemens Canada advanced dual-modality PET/MRI applications.
Research interests include applying novel MRI methods to study brain pathologies, such as identifying treatment targets for schizophrenia's negative symptoms and optimizing glymphatic system measurements in Alzheimer’s disease. He collaborates across disciplines to bridge physics innovations with clinical mental health research.
