Assoc. Prof. Dr. Recai DAĞLI is an Associate Professor at Ahi Evran University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation, where he has served since 2013. He completed his medical education at Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine (1986-1992) and obtained his Medical Specialization in Surgical Medical Sciences from Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine (1995-2000). He has held leadership positions as Department Head from 2014-2022 and currently serves as Chairman of the Health Sciences Scientific Research Ethics Committee (2024-) and previously as Chairman of Ahi Evran University Faculty of Medicine Clinical Research Ethics Committee (2022-2023).
Dr. DAĞLI's research interests span Anesthesiology, Perioperative Medicine, Critical Care, Pain Management, Emergency Medicine, Medical Education, and the physiological effects of surgical stress including oxidative stress and temperature regulation. His work demonstrates particular expertise in perioperative hypothermia, thiol/disulfide balance in surgical patients, geriatric anesthesia, and complementary approaches like aromatherapy in medical settings. His research methodology includes randomized clinical trials, prospective observational studies, and retrospective analyses.
His publications reveal consistent research trends focused on operating room environment effects on patient outcomes, particularly examining how laminar airflow systems impact perioperative hypothermia across various surgical procedures. Another significant research thread investigates thiol/disulfide homeostasis as a biomarker for surgical stress response in different patient populations including those undergoing cesarean sections and patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. His work also addresses critical healthcare issues such as medical education effectiveness, particularly for basic life support training, and mental health impacts on healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- 2nd Prize in Experimental Study Oral Presentation Competition (2016) from Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation
Dr. DAĞLI has contributed significantly to medical education through teaching numerous courses related to basic and advanced life support, consciousness alterations, and surgical procedures. He has collaborated extensively with colleagues at Ahi Evran University and other institutions, with Zeynel Abidin Erbesler, Hakan Bayır, and Fatma Çelik being among his most frequent research partners. His professional memberships include the Turkish Society of Anesthesiology and Reanimation (since 2000), Turkish Intensive Care Society (since 2013), Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Society (since 2002), and Turkish Medical Association (since 1992).
