Rebekah Harms is a Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide's School of Humanities (within the Faculty of Arts, Business, Law and Economics) and holds a Postdoctoral Fellowship at UNSW/CSIRO. Her current three-year project, funded by the ARC Centre of Excellence and CSIRO, focuses on ensuring equity and accessibility in AI and automated decision-making within engineering biology. She collaborates with prominent researchers such as Prof Jackie Leach Scully (UNSW), Dr Aditi Mankad (CSIRO), and Prof Rachel Ankeny (Wageningen University).
Her research examines barriers to equitable use of AI/ADM technologies in healthcare and life sciences, aiming to prevent global health disparities. Key themes include ethical frameworks for technology integration, data interpretation challenges, and personalized medicine applications.
