Rebecca de Quin is a Senior Lecturer and practising silversmith at the Royal College of Art (RCA), where she has taught on the Jewellery & Metal programme for 25 years. She leads workshops, serves as a personal tutor, and contributes to the programme’s curation team. Her research focuses on reinterpreting traditional silverware, exploring materiality, sustainability, and cultural significance. Current projects include investigating intersections between vessel and garment forms through experimental metalwork and textile techniques.
Education: PG Cert from University of the Arts London. She supports students pursuing teaching careers through mentorship and internships.
Key achievements include seven works in the Goldsmiths’ Company collection, a 1999 commission for a table centrepiece, and exhibitions at Collect, London, V&A, and international venues. Awards include 2023 GC&DC Gold and Bronze Awards. Her studio in North-East London fosters a creative community with fellow artists.
Research projects include 'Metal and Cloth: Exploring Intersections Between Vessels and Garments' (RKEI-funded 2021–22), merging metalwork with garment construction. Collaborations involve roles as External Examiner at multiple institutions.
