Rebecca White is a Professor in the Theatre & Dance department at Otterbein University, where she has served since 2007. She teaches core courses in the BFA Design Technology program including costume history, design, crafts, and makeup, while actively designing costumes for 2-4 annual productions with student collaborators serving as research assistants and technologists.
Her educational foundation includes an MFA in Costume Design/Technology from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (2005) and a BA in Theatre Design and Performance from the University of Wisconsin, LaCrosse (2001). Professor White's creative practice spans professional theatre venues including The Santa Fe Opera, Theatre L’Homme Dieu, The Milwaukee Rep, and Park Square Theatre.
As DT Recruitment Officer, she annually engages over 4,000 high school theatre students in Nebraska while hosting campus visits. She maintains active membership in the United States Institute for Theatre Technology and serves on the Otterbein Senate, demonstrating deep institutional commitment through both artistic leadership and academic governance.
