Rebecca Watts Hull is an Academic Professional and Service Learning and Partnerships Specialist at Georgia Tech's Center for Serve-Learn-Sustain, affiliated with the School of History and Sociology in the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts. She holds a PhD in History and Sociology of Technology and Science (Georgia Tech, 2018), an MS in the same field (Georgia Tech, 2015), an MS in Natural Resources & Environment (University of Michigan, 1995), and a BA in Psychology with Environmental Science (Bucknell University, 1987).
Her research focuses on student activism, sustainability leadership, and food justice on college campuses. She explores connections between campus-based social movements and broader societal change. Prior to academia, she led nonprofit organizations like Mothers & Others for Clean Air, managed environmental projects in East Africa with the Peace Corps, and worked at the World Wildlife Fund. She also designed curricula for education initiatives like California’s EEI and Atlanta’s independent schools.
