Dr. Rebecca Schroeder is a faculty member in the School of Nursing at the University of Southern Maine (USM), holding academic and clinical roles since 2016. She serves as track coordinator for the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) program and maintains a clinical practice in Assertive Community Treatment settings. Her expertise spans adult/geriatric mental health, telemental health, and therapeutic communication.
Education: DNP (Regis College, MA), MPH (Columbia University, NY), BSN (Regis College, MA). She teaches advanced courses such as Advanced Psychopharmacology and Behavioral and Psychosocial Health of the Family.
Research focuses on mental health service delivery innovations, co-occurring illnesses, and integrative care models. Her work addresses gaps in access to mental health services, particularly for vulnerable populations, and explores the impact of technological advancements like telehealth during crises such as the pandemic.
Professional contributions include developing clinical education programs and advocating for patient-centered care practices. Her publications analyze diverse topics from ACT team effectiveness to ethical dimensions of end-of-life care.
