Rebecca Sawiuk is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Coaching at the University of Hertfordshire and a PhD researcher. She holds a UEFA A Licence and an Advanced Youth Award, integrating pedagogical principles into her practice. Rebecca graduated from Manchester Metropolitan University with an MSc in Sports Coaching and Development. She remains closely connected to her mentors there, Dr. Ryan Groom and Dr. Bill Taylor, collaborating on publications and projects. She balances academia with practical experience as a coach, working with local youth programs like Crew Alex Centre of Excellence and Stoke City Regional Talent Club.
Her career began eight years ago after securing a Lecturer role through a competitive application process. She advocates for diversity in Sport and Exercise Sciences to foster varied perspectives and address blind spots in the field.
Rebecca’s future goals include contributing to inclusive coaching frameworks and pursuing a career in football coaching. She emphasizes networking and self-development to aspiring professionals in the field.
