Dr. Rebecca Sammet is a researcher in the Biology Didactics group at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz. Her work focuses on integrating ant research into school curricula through innovative teaching modules. Since 2012, she has been a research assistant, completing her doctorate on the ANTS project, which bridges academic research on Temnothorax nylanderi ants with classroom applications. She collaborates with institutions like the Frankfurt Zoo and Palmengarten, developing hands-on experiment kits for educators. Her research emphasizes student engagement through live-animal studies, measuring learning outcomes and interest via surveys and teacher feedback. She actively participates in pedagogical workshops organized by the State Pedagogical Institute to refine educational materials.
