Rebecca Posusta serves as a Teaching Professor in the Department of English within the College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She additionally holds faculty status in the Humanities Program and serves as Regional Coordinator for the Pikes Peak Region of the Jane Austen Society of North America (JASNA).
Her research spans Jane Austen studies (particularly spatial theory in Persuasion), Victorian literature, Southern Gothic fiction, and literary environmental studies. Current projects include archival research on a 19th century Leeds reformatory school, funded by UCCS Humanities and Teaching Enhancement grants. Her scholarship appears in critical editions like the Norton Critical Edition: Persuasion (2024) and journals including Critical Surveys.
She has led multiple study abroad programs to England (2015, 2018, 2022) and England/France (2024), specializing in experiential literary education. Her teaching portfolio includes Introduction to Literary Studies, British literature surveys, Postcolonial literature, Global Women Storytellers, and Environmental Stewardship courses.

Professor Posusta teaches both online (English 1500, 2010, 2920) and in-person courses with emphasis on spatial analysis and historical context. She actively mentors student researchers through her Leeds project and study abroad programs, maintaining a vintage book collection in her office (COLU 1011) for tangible historical engagement.
