Dr. Rebecca McElroy is Research Fellow in Astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland's Centre for Astrophysics. Her NASA-funded research examines galaxy evolution using MUSE and ALMA telescopes.
Leads the Close AGN Reference Survey studying nearby active galaxies and galaxy merger simulations. Expertise includes integral field spectroscopy and astronomical data analysis.
- Recipient of VC Research Excellence Award and Women in Technology Award
- Authored 35+ publications on galaxy dynamics and AGN phenomena
Developed educational initiatives including COMD Coogs in Belize study abroad program.
