Rebecca Lee is a Versus Arthritis Development Fellow in the Division of Musculoskeletal and Dermatological Sciences at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health. Her research focuses on improving pain assessment and communication for children/young people in pediatric rheumatology, particularly through digital tools like mHealth applications. She leads an intervention project using behavioral science principles to modify healthcare professionals' pain management practices.
Education: PhD in Medicine (2018, University of Manchester), M.Sc. Health Psychology (2015, University of Central Lancashire), B.Sc. Psychology (2013, Edge Hill University).
Research Interests: Applied health psychology, pediatric rheumatology, digital health innovation, qualitative and quantitative methodologies, pain communication in clinical settings. She has developed the 'My Pain Tracker' tool and published studies on pain assessment methods and their impact on clinical outcomes.
Awards: Versus Arthritis Foundation Fellowship. Projects include the STAR study on recurrent musculoskeletal pain in youth and CHAMP, a behavior change intervention for pediatric rheumatology teams. She collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and supervises postgraduate research students like L. Hulme. Her work contributes to UN SDG 3 (Good Health) and SDG 4 (Education).
