Rebecca Lauerburg

Dr. Rebecca Lauerburg is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institute of Marine Ecosystem and Fisheries Sciences, Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics, Computer Science and Natural Sciences, University of Hamburg. Her office is located at Olbersweg 24, Room 204, Hamburg (22767).

Dr. Lauerburg's research centers on fish population dynamics and ecosystem interactions, with emphasis on growth patterns, selective mortality, and adaptation in fish populations under environmental change. She employs otolith microstructure and macrostructure analyses to study Baltic Sprat, Atlantic cod, and North Sea whiting. Her current work in the EU-funded FACTS project examines how forage fish availability affects whiting growth, condition, and reproductive potential in the North Sea ecosystem.

She has presented findings at major international conferences including the ICES/NAFO Symposium in St. Andrews (2013), ICES/PICES Symposium in Nantes (2012), and ICES Annual Science Conference in Bergen (2012).
