Rebecca Hallett is a Professor and Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies) in the School of Environmental Sciences at the Ontario Agricultural College, University of Guelph. Her research focuses on pest management in agricultural systems, particularly invasive insects and their ecological impacts.
Education: BSc (Biogeography) from the University of Toronto, MPM and PhD (Entomology) from Simon Fraser University.
Research interests include chemical ecology of insects, climate change effects on invasive species, insect-plant interactions, and sustainable pest management strategies for vegetable and field crops. She leads projects on swede midge control, biological control agents, and integrated pest management practices.
Awards: Recipient of the G.P. McRostie Faculty Award for outstanding advising and mentoring (2011). Her work has been published in journals such as Journal of Integrated Pest Management, Environmental Entomology, and Biological Control.
Labs/Teams: Her research group is based in the EC Bovey Building, with a focus on field and laboratory studies of insect pests and their management.
