Rebecca Flint is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Iowa State University. Her research focuses on theoretical condensed matter physics, particularly correlated electronic materials and exotic emergent phenomena. She holds a PhD from Rutgers University and a B.S. from the California Institute of Technology. Her work has been supported by a NSF CAREER Grant for studying exotic magnetic materials and a DOE Early Career award for research on praseodymium-based heavy fermion materials. Currently, she leads a DOE project at Ames National Laboratory exploring magnetic anisotropy and mixed valence in rare earths, with applications to clean energy and heavy fermion physics.

She employs theoretical frameworks such as Landau-Ginzburg theory and advanced numerical methods to model complex material behaviors.
