Rebecca Duncan is a Professor of English and Director of General Education at Meredith College since 1997. Her work integrates postcolonial literature, gender studies, and digital media, emphasizing cross-cultural analysis and sustainability advocacy. She holds a Ph.D. in British Literature from Florida State University alongside degrees in English, International Affairs, and History.
Research highlights include explorations of Life of Pi as postmodern narrative, gender dynamics in Naomi Alderman’s The Power, and Moroccan youth voices. Her creative works include the novel Secrets of Gray Lake and op-eds on environmental issues. She has presented globally on topics ranging from ‘Cosmopolitanism and Aural Literacy’ to ‘Utopia/Dystopia and the Sense of Place’.
