Elizabeth Tallent is the Bella Mabury and Eloise Mabury Knapp Professor of Humanities at Stanford University's Department of English. Her academic career focuses on American Literature, Creative Writing, and the short story form. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Illinois State University (1975).
Her publications include the novel Museum Pieces and short story collections such as Mendocino Fire (PEN/Faulkner Award finalist), Honey, Time with Children, and In Constant Flight. Her work appears in prestigious journals like The New Yorker, Harper's, and The Paris Review, and has been anthologized in The Best American Short Stories and O. Henry Prize Stories.
