Rebecca Duff serves as Director of Thought Leadership at the Batten Institute, a Center of Excellence within the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. With over 20 years of experience in industry and technology research, she focuses on decarbonization strategies, emerging technologies, and policy interventions. She oversees research initiatives that bridge academia, industry, and policy, particularly in sustainability and artificial intelligence. Key roles include co-leading the Darden Sustainability Advisory Council and coordinating cross-center collaborations.
Her education includes a B.S. from Mary Washington College and an M.S. from Johns Hopkins University. Research interests emphasize climate action pathways, innovation ecosystems, and the intersection of technology with environmental policy. She co-authored The Decarbonization Imperative: Transforming the Global Economy by 2050 and contributed to multiple Batten Institute reports on sector-specific decarbonization strategies.
