Rebecca Curinga

Rebecca Curinga is a Lecturer at the City University of New York (CUNY), where she earned her Ph.D. in Linguistics from the Graduate Center. Her work focuses on supporting high school emergent bilinguals and Students with Interrupted Formal Education (SIFE) through programs that emphasize home language literacy as a foundation for English reading comprehension and vocabulary development.

Research Interests: Her studies explore the interplay between morphological awareness in native languages and second language literacy, collaborating with the NYC Department of Education and NYS Education Department to implement educational frameworks for linguistically diverse learners.
