Rebecca Bowers

Dr. Rebecca Bowers is a feminist economic anthropologist in the Department of Anthropology at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her work focuses on gendered inequality, financialization, labor informality, and pandemic impacts on vulnerable populations. She completed her PhD and has taught courses on Economic Anthropology and Professional Development at LSE. Her research spans India and the UK, including ethnographic studies on migrant workers and pandemic care networks. She collaborates with the LSE’s Covid and Care research group, advocating for policy reforms centering household care networks. Her recent projects address labor migration, urban precarity, and pandemic responses.
