Rebecca Boston

Dr. Rebecca Boston is a Senior Lecturer in Functional Ceramics at the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, School of Chemical, Materials and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield. Her research focuses on controlling crystal size and shape in functional ceramics to enhance properties for applications such as superconductors, breeder blankets for fusion, thermoelectrics, and battery materials.

• Lithium- and sodium-ion battery cathodes/anodes
• Crystallization and morphological control

Her recent publications highlight advancements in porous carbon lattices, doped thermoelectric oxides, and biotemplated battery materials, with a focus on sustainable synthesis and energy applications. She has received significant funding through the Royal Academy of Engineering and Faraday Institution projects.
