Jon Goff

Jon Goff is a Professor of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics at the Department of Physics, Royal Holloway, University of London. He leads the Materials Discovery Laboratory, specializing in neutron scattering and synchrotron x-ray techniques to study strongly correlated systems.

• Research focuses on thermoelectric oxides, high-temperature superconductors, and defect superstructures in fuel-cell materials.
• Discovered ring exchange in superconductors and pioneered resonant x-ray scattering studies of spin-density waves in thin films.
• Active in grants: EPSRC Core Equipment (2023–2024), Harnessing disorder for spin liquids (2021–2023), and thermoelectric oxide nanostructures projects (2015–2019).
