Rebecca Ball

Dr. Rebecca Ball is a Lecturer in History at Manchester Metropolitan University, specializing in Modern British history with a focus on working-class experiences between 1900-1945. She holds a PhD in History from the University of Wolverhampton (2021), preceded by an MA (Manchester Metropolitan University, 2014) and BA (University of Manchester, 2013). Her research uses autobiographical writing to analyze social changes and major historical events through everyday lives.

Administrative roles include First Year Tutor for History, Politics and Philosophy and Student Community Lead for HPP. Awards include a 2024 Fellowship from the Advanced HE Academy. Her work explores themes like urban childhoods during wartime and class dynamics, with publications in peer-reviewed books. She is accessible via r.ball@mmu.ac.uk and holds office hours Monday 2-4pm and Thursday 2-3pm.
