Rebeca Ribeiro-Palau is a CNRS Researcher (CRCN) at the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies (C2N), a joint research unit of CNRS and Université Paris-Saclay, where she joined the PHYNANO group in November 2017 to investigate topological orders in van der Waals heterostructures.
Her educational background includes a bachelor's degree from the University of Carabobo in Venezuela, a master's degree from the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC) where she studied non-centrosymmetric superconductors, and a PhD in Physics from Université Paul Sabatier in Toulouse conducted at the French National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (LNCMI).
Her research focuses on experimental condensed matter physics with emphasis on:
- Topological states in 2D systems
- Quantum transport in graphene and van der Waals heterostructures
- Band structure manipulation techniques
- Nanofabrication for quantum device engineering
- Applications in quantum Hall resistance standards
She has received notable recognition including the MRSEC fellowship during her postdoctoral work at Columbia University.
Dr. Ribeiro-Palau's career spans the French National Metrology Laboratory (LNE), Columbia University, and the LNCMI, where she combines low-temperature/high-magnetic-field measurements with advanced nanofabrication to explore quantum phenomena in two-dimensional materials.
