Dr. Rayman Mohamed is a Professor and Chair of the Urban Studies and Planning Department at Wayne State University's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He also serves as the Graduate Director. His research focuses on urban planning, transportation, health, conservation subdivisions, Brownfields redevelopment, and behavioral psychology in planning. He has held leadership roles such as Track Chair and National Conference Chair for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning. Dr. Mohamed has secured over $3.4M in grants, including a $2.9M NSF training grant as co-PI. His education includes a Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from Cornell University. He teaches courses like Quantitative Techniques and Planning Studies and Methods.
Notable grants include the Michigan Health Endowment Fund's $100K BusMe project (2017), a Wayne State Pilot Grant on M-1 Rail impacts (2015), and a U-Haul International study on economic impacts (2014).
