Raven England-Joiner is an Instructor at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN), where she teaches in the Master of Nursing (MN) Community Health coursework and Pre-Specialty Leadership Management Professional Nursing Practice coursework. She joined VUSN in 2023 after earning her MSN in Nursing Health Systems Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (2022). Her clinical background includes Maternal Child Health—High Risk Obstetrics, Mother/Baby Postpartum Care, and Nurse Home Visitation to Expectant Women and Families.
Her academic interests focus on advocacy for health equity, community engagement practicum, social and structural influences on health, and leadership in professional nursing practice. She is affiliated with the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA).
