Raul U. Hernandez-Ramirez

Raul U. Hernandez-Ramirez is a Research Scientist in Biostatistics at Yale University's Center for Methods in Implementation and Prevention Science (CMIPS) and Director of the Dissemination and Implementation Science Methods (DISM) Core at the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA). He is affiliated with the Yale Cancer Center and the Yale Institute for Global Health, where he contributes to research at the intersection of HIV/AIDS, cancer, and implementation science.

Dr. Hernandez-Ramirez completed his PhD in Public Health (Chronic Disease Epidemiology) at Yale, following specialized training at the National Cancer Institute and in implementation science methodologies. His educational background includes an MSc in Epidemiology and a BSc in Nutrition, with prior research experience at Mexico's National Institute of Public Health.

His research focuses on developing and applying causal inference methods for HIV prevention interventions, examining dietary factors related to gastric cancer risk through the international Stomach cancer Pooling (StoP) Project, and implementing evidence-based practices in low-resource settings. Much of his work involves international collaboration, particularly with Mexican institutions.

Dr. Hernandez-Ramirez's publication record shows consistent output in high-impact journals, with recent work spanning gastric cancer epidemiology, HIV implementation science, environmental health methods, and global health applications. His research demonstrates strong methodological rigor and cross-disciplinary collaboration, particularly with biostatisticians and epidemiologists at Yale.

As Director of the DISM Core, he provides critical methodological support for implementation science projects, particularly those focused on Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) priority areas. His expertise bridges statistical methodology with practical implementation challenges in real-world settings.
